Pictures - Xunantunich
Xunantunich is a Mayan site in Belize. This city was inhabited between 600 and 1000 AD and is very important because of its location along the Mopan River. This river runs from Guatemala to the Caribbean Sea. The highlight of this city is the temple El Castillo. This temple is 40 meters high and from the top it gives the visitor wonderful views of the surroundings.
Other Mayan sites in Belize are Lamanai and Caracol.
