On your way to Agua Azul you can already feel that you really are in a tropical area. The forest gets denser, and the closer you get to the waterfalls of Agua Azul, the higher the rise in humidity.

Agua Azul is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, especially in spring, when the waterfalls have the most beautiful aquamarine color, for which these falls have become so famous. During the rainy season (runs from June to September) mud flows color the water brown.

Agua Azul is large; you can take a great walk up to the top of the waterfalls which is quite exhausting, but the sight and sounds of the waterfall rushing next to you keeps you going. Near the bottom of the waterfalls there are nice souvenir shops with everything from handbags to jewelery. Once on top you can enjoy an amazing view of Agua Azul and its surroundings.

There are also caves you can visit, some with underground rivers flowing through them.
